Should You Buy the Urban Decay Naked Palette?

Hello! Today I wanted to talk about my all time favorite eye shadow palette. It is the ever famous Urban Decay Naked Palette, as shown in the title. Something different about this post is that I will be including pictures, so I thought that would be more interesting.

What does it look like at a glance?
The palette comes in a long, rectangular velvet "box" basically. "Naked" is spelled out in big capital letters. Urban Decay, the makeup brand, is written smaller below it.

What does the inside of the palette look like?
When you open it up, you see 12 eyeshadows. Under those is a slot that comes with a nice eyeshadow brush. There is a mirror above all of this, as you can see in the photo below.

Why would I want to buy this?
The palette is great for an everyday eye look. I could honestly be just fine if these were the only eyeshadows I had in my makeup collection. It is an investment because the palette is $50 (that's about $4 for each shade). The palette also comes with a high quality brush and an eye shadow primer potion ($10 for that same size if you were to buy it alone). So, all in all, it really is a great deal.

Pros:

  • High quality eyeshadows
  • Comes in a lot of shades
  • Great neutral colors
  • Very pigmented colors
  • Good size eye colors

Cons:
I figured I should also feature some cons, because let's face it, even though this product is close to perfect, there's always a couple things you wish could be different.
  • Not great for travel: a good alternative for this is the Urban Decay Naked Basics palette. The palette includes only 6 eyeshadows and is a lot better for travel.
  • The outside, velvetly material gets stained easily
Have you heard about the Naked 2?
If you are not a fan of the shades in this palette, maybe they are too dark, or you just don't like it, don't lose hope just yet. Urban Decay released a second Naked palette that also has 12 shades. I don't own it, but I will link it below.

So, all in all, this is a great product. I will link this product, the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette, and the Urban Decay Naked Basics palette now:

My 4 Favorite Lotions of 2012

Hello! As you might have noticed in my first post, Favorite Lip Products of 2012, I mentioned that I LOVE products that are moisturizing. Not only do I love lip products that provide moisture, but I also love body products that do the same. This post will be in the same format as that post. Once again, these are in no particular order.

1) Bath & Body Works Triple Moisture Body Cream "Twilight Woods" - Not only is this my favorite scent, but I also love the formula of this product. It is more heavy duty than a lotion, so it is great for the Winter when my hands get super dry.

2) Bath & Body Works Body Lotion "Warm Vanilla Sugar" - I love this lotion and the scent as well. The scent is super simple and classic (just as the name describes). Like I said, this isn't as thick as the body cream, but it does do a good job at moisturizing my hands, feet, and body.

3) True Blue Spa Shea Cashmere & Silk Hand Cream - So, you thought, well at least it isn't another Bath & Body Works product... Sorry, wrong. Hehe. This can be purchased at Bath & Body Works, and it is just like the Triple Moisture Body Cream, but is made specifically for your hands. It is the perfect size for travel or to throw in your purse.

4) Drenched in PINK Supersoft Body Lotion "warm & cozy" - Now, this one isn't from Bath & Body Works. :) This can be purchased at Victoria's Secret Pink, or online, of course. The packaging is not great for traveling, but it serves as a good "on the counter" product. The scent is like it describes, and it is also a super girly scent. I love how it has a pump on it, so you don't have to squeeze a bottle for the product to come out. I'm so sorry to mention that I couldn't find this product online, but I will link the website where you can find other lotions from Victoria's Secret Pink.

That's it for this post. Hope you enjoyed. :)
